Hello, and welcome to my blog!

I’m Dani, a doctor and somehow a writer. I mainly pen fan fiction in my spare time, but I’ve also written some original pieces. I've slowly been cross-posting some posts from my old Tumblr, but I hope to be able to have more time to write some new stuff when I finally get over my longstanding residency burnout. (That's what I restarted my DW journal for, actually!)

I also like to read whenever I can; I'm mostly catching up on my overgrown TBR list. I don’t have a favorite genre, since the kind of stuff I read is all over the place. I do keep a list of book recs, though, so maybe I’ll figure that out as I go.

... of the essential stuff, anyway. I'm far from done with the fanfics, and even then I'm not even so sure anymore, since I orphaned more than half of them due to past bad fandom experiences. (That would be most of my SKK fics, as well as a handful of others. I could f-lock those if I do get down to it, as long as they're posted on here somewhat.)

Also said goodbye on Tumblr, locked + cleaned up my "public writer account" on Twitter and told everyone to follow me on Bluesky instead. (Sadly my original RL Twitter account has to remain since that's locked while Bluesky isn't.)

Overall, yesterday was a pretty productive day.

Been so obsessed with this manga and the live-action recently that I was dying to know what happened.

Well! I finally caved and revived this blog. Bought back the username and all.
And this time, I know how to use it properly. (I think.)

Am really enjoying the no-fuss features so far. This is what I had envisioned my Tumblah experience to be like before it became social-media-y. Hah.

Will be migrating a lot of my stuff from Tumblah and AO3 over here, backdated and all, over the next few weeks, before I close the former.
It'll be a nice change of pace from IRL work and conference prep.

Brain's not working well enough to compose a proper life update, but the short of it is: I'm done with residency! I also will be preparing for a conference abroad, then specialty boards by the end of the year. God is good!

Still have work tomorrow, so I'll leave it up to here. Migration continues tomorrow after work.

They had found it among the Tai Taiho’s personal effects from Hourai: slim and lightweight with a dark, mirror-like surface on one side and a thick ring on the other. The sages had almost dropped it when the mirror lit up with small Kaikyaku text that blinked several times before darkening once more. Out of extreme caution (or maybe out of terrified deference to the Taiho after all he’d gone through), they decided to seal it away for the time being until he returned to retrieve it someday.
